A Short History of the Area
In 2008, the Society published "The Indian Lake Area Historical Society Presents a "Short History of the Area." This 140+ page history book is available for sale from the Society for $20 plus $4 postage.


Original Orchard Island Post Office
In 2004, the Society had the circa 1912 Original Orchard Island Post Office building moved to Dredge Island between Orchard and Wolf Islands for public viewing


Postcard Book

A Postcard book has been added to our sales. It was written by Cornelis van der Veen. It is available at our General Meetings and events. The cost is $21.99. It is well written and has a lot of historical material.

The Indian Lake Area Historical Society, Inc. was formed in 2003 and is a not-for-profit corporation created in part to:

  • Protect and preserve the historical documents, buildings, cultures and environment of Indian Lake as resources will permit

  • Recruit residents and friends of the Indian Lake area as members.
  • Be an advocate for the Logan County Historical Society in the Indian Lake area.
  • Work in harmony with the local governments and neighborhoods of the Indian Lake area to preserve their identities and historical culture.
  • Be an educational resource for schools, civic organizations, individuals, and others who request services from the Society.
